Secretary Message

Dr. Swapna Bhaskar

Greetings from AFPI!

Family medicine is slowly regaining its lost glory in the past few years as the pillar of healthcare of a society. The government and the public have started recognizing this specialty as the backbone of building a healthy nation. Technology, on its side, has become the inevitable companion of human existence in this twenty first century. Anything and everything in this world is being "technologized" for user convenience, better performance, and best outcomes. Hence it is the right time to merge technology with primary care and display it to our peers, friends and the society. With this concept in mind we are organizing the 4th national conference of family medicine and primary care in Bengaluru- the city of techies and technology!

We will strive to bring to you a platter of varied medical delicacies- scientific discussions of importance to primary care with special emphasis on use of technology, policy making and plenary sessions, hands on workshops for young and aspiring family physicians, entertainment and quiz, a unique mentor-mentee program for postgraduates, young clinicians conclave etc!

We also are keenly looking forward to having impactful sessions with the leaders of healthcare, corporate healthcare providers, healthcare technology giants and other stakeholders like the Indian Institute of Science, NGOs in healthcare, medical students, paramedical associates etc to add more mileage to our motive of improving the standards of family practice in our country.

We will put in our best foot forward to make this event a most memorable one and we look forward to active participation from all our friends in family medicine in India and world over.
